What a week we have had. It basically only consisted on really three days. I have never loved winter so much. This week the conversation focuses on my siblings. Now I have two sisters, Mary and Jennifer, and they are my older sisters. In fact Mary, my oldest sister, is 14 years older than I am. One on they teacher at Gahanna went to school with my sisters. Since they are so much older than me I basically grew up as an only child for the majority of my younger years. For this reason my father has told me that “you are the last of the Mohicans,” but it has not always been like this. I did have a tribe at one time.
Now one of the first memories besides a great light and a doctor is me sitting in a car. In the car is Mary, two of her friends, and myself; and we are going water balloon throwing, who thinks to take their baby brother water throwing. The answer is my sister. Now most on my stories involve my older sister because she took an interest in me when I was a toddler. My sister did a lot of things for me. She took my places and invited me in to her life. She was a great big sister and I wasn’t the easiest to get along with. I frequently cried and or spit on people. I did not spit on purpose but I had an excess of saliva in my mouth, that’s all. Mary basically took me places that my parents did not want to. Another one of my memories involves the OSU Buckeyes. When the won the national championship Circuit city, now I think it is a Comfy Couch store, had the trophy in the store for people to get pictures with. I wanted to go so my sister was the one to take my. The national championship takes place in January so this was around the same time, which meant was cold. My sister waited with me for about three hours for about five seconds and a picture with the trophy. Mary has always been there for me and it has been one fun time.
The second sister I have is the younger of my two sisters Jennifer. Jennifer was not a very large part of my childhood because she had other things to do. Jennifer and I did not get along very well when I was younger. I really had no idea why we butted heads but we did. I think the reason was that when I was born she was no longer the baby of the family which she had been for twelve years. I remember getting yelled at by my sister for destroying her stuffed animals. I guess there were some scissors on her desk which I could reach and there were some stuffed animals that needed a haircut. Jennifer had Disney stufffed animal such as lions and monkey which she liked very much. After I was done the lions had no manes and the monkeys were shaved. The weirdest thing is that my mother blamed my sister for leaving the scissors out in the first place. That is really all I can remember about Jennifer unfortunately.
These days my sisters and I all have a very good relationship. The odd thing now is that Jennifer has two children and Mary is going to have a child. This means that I will be about the same age they were when I was born. I guess that means I am going to have to return all of the favor they have done for me. I am not going to make the same mistakes that my sisters did with me. I am not going to leave my scissors on my desk. My stuffed animals are mine. They are perfectly fine and do not need a shave
Hi! I just stumbled upon your blog via the "new blog" thing at the top of the page, and I wanted to tell you that this was a sweet entry. I'm in the same position as you are, age-wise. My siblings are 20 years older than I am, and I'm actually closer in age to their children than I am to them. Congratulations on being an uncle again soon!
